VMHOSTS NEWS

Safeguarding Maritime Operations

Addressing maritime cybersecurity requires collaboration among stakeholders.

VMhosts is now 11 years old! We have our origins in high performance computing. Way back before VMhosts was formed and even before Cloud Computing was available, our founder, Michael, was working in the technology sector and identified a niche opportunity. He started thinking about virtualisation, and how it could be used to save clients thousands in hardware costs and maintenance, by renting computing capacity in virtual machines. Using high-performance infrastructure located in secure datacentres, customers were able to enjoy all the benefits of the latest, highest-performing technology in a cost-effective package. Immediately recognising the huge growth potential and having a vision exceeding that of his current company, Michael branched out on his own and VMhosts was born in July 2010. From the start, VMhosts was self-funded and grew without any loans or borrowing. This spirit of independence continues in our attitude of customer service – we don’t operate like other providers. We take personal responsibility for our work and our customers, with a dedicated team on hand to offer support, advice and guidance. We always do our best to support our clients in any way we can – our experience in the IT sector means that we know how frustrating it can be for customers who are looking for technical support or assistance. We don’t believe this is the right way to do business, so with us there are no call queues – you get straight through to a real person. We are proud of our customer care approach, and this is reflected in our pricing model. We always aim to give the best value for money, offering “pay-for-what-you-use” pricing wherever possible, with no hidden charges or penalties. As you might expect from a company founded by an IT expert, technology is where we really shine. We might be called VMhosts, but we are not just about the Cloud: we offer on-premises solutions, Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Backup as a Service (Baas) and Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaaS) solutions as well as fully managed services. Take a look at our website and see what we have to offer; we have some comparative performance figure against other services such as AWS and Azure that might surprise you! Once you’ve had a look around, feel free to give us a call and find out how you can grow your business with us as we look forward to an even better second decade!
