Back in 2023, VMhosts became a corporate sponsor of East Anglia Children’s Hospice to try and raise as much money as possible for the incredible work they do supporting children with life threatening conditions and their families. Their Milton Hospice is local to the office, and after a visit to see first hand the amazing work they do, the team knew they’d like to do all they can to help raise vital funds.
The team started small with a charity bake sale which was great fun, and a complete sell out. Any excuse for cake!
In June 2023 the team took on the huge feat of walking 32 miles from Cromer to Great Yarmouth. With a few training days under their belts, the team headed to Great Yarmouth (don’t mention the hotel they stayed in, Richard won’t be allowed to book the accommodation again!) with the hope they’d all finish. It was a tough walk over various terrain including sand dunes, tarmac and fields, and the team managed to raise over £4000 which made the hobbling around the office the following week worth it! We won’t talk about James and Michaels feet after the walk…
May 2024 saw the next team challenge – this time walking 16 miles from Lowestoft to Southwold. A shorter walk, but still the challenge of walking miles on a sandy beach! The shorter distance made for a more enjoyable experience and less ruined feet after the walk – even managing a celebratory drink or two in one of the Southwold pubs. The team raised just under £4000 which they were chuffed about, although there may have been a bit of rivalry between the two teams as to who raised the most! Now to see what fundraising challenge 2025 brings…
In June 2024 we sponsored the Open Gardens event at the Hospice in Milton. The Hospice is surrounded by beautiful gardens and once a year they open the grounds to the public to come and walk round and try and raise much needed funds for the hospice. The sun was shining and the crowds were entertained by a choir before going for a wander – a lovely day for all!
The team also undertook their first volunteering day in November 2024 to help get the site ready for the Winter Wonderland event they hold every December. On the day we helped with some gardening to get the site neat and tidy ready for an appearance from the big man himself!
We’re excited to be supporting the EACH Bubble Rush on the 6th July 2025 at the Rowley Mile Racecourse. The course features four bubble stations along the 2.5km route, you can do one lap or double your enjoyment by completing the circuit twice to make 5km. Each bubble station has a cannon which pumps out coloured foam to create a 4ft deep bubble bath! It looks set to be a great event and we’d love to see as many of you there as possible: https://www.each.org.uk/support-us/events/newmarket-bubble-rush-2025/
As businesses move to agile mobile solutions such as Office 365, cyber criminals are exploiting this choice, to many Office 365 is new technology platform. Once a business has migrated key services to these always on services they become dependent on their availability and make the assumption the platform is secure by default.
