Provenance & Green were seeking a Managed Services Provider to deliver a streamlined and consistent IT function. They contacted VMhosts and an excellent working relationship has been formed.
For twenty years, Provenance & Green has been providing advanced stock inventory management, ecologically-sound packaging and materials, consignment tracking and notification and global shipping services.
The company has a strong environmental focus, using digital technology to eliminate much of its paper usage and working extensively with its local council to ensure recycling or environmentally-sound disposal of all waste products.
Provenance & Green makes extensive use of digital technology to drive its efficient, eco-friendly fulfilment services. The company evaluated its IT systems and found areas where improvements could be made. There were some internal IT skills but no dedicated IT team. The company also utilised both office-based and home working, resulting in several different device types and a mixture of SharePoint, Google Drive and various email systems. VMhosts was approached to create consistency within the IT function and to provide managed services.
Working closely with the client, VMhosts made an assessment of the current IT capabilities and produced a plan to deliver a streamlined and consistent IT function. Users were migrated to Office 365 to remove the disparity between the various different applications. Additionally, email files were organised into a folder structure. This provided improved visibility and accessibility for all company documents. VMhosts replaced the clients hardware, ensuring compatibility and consistency across all devices.
VMhosts has made various security and reliability enhancements to Provenance & Greens solution. Sophos Antivirus now protects the system against malware, and Datto Backup for Office 365 protects against data loss.
Provenance & Green and VMhosts have developed an excellent working relationship. We act as the IT department, working closely with the client and managing the system on a day-to-day basis.
Provenance & Green is a forward-looking company and we have recently been discussing possible expansion into local wi-fi to expand ecommerce capabilities at the clients distribution warehouse.
